Car hanging revs on idle

Hi all

I have a series 1 308 GT4 which has recently been fully rebuilt. It currently has a single set of points installed with condensers and Magnetti Marelli BK2A coils installed.

we are having issues with the car holding high revs and not coming back down to an acceptable idle after revving. The issue is noticeably worse when the engine is at operating temperature.

does the car need the R1 and R2 points and micro switch to properly operate or can it run with the R1 points only.

what is the likely cause for the revs not wanting to come down?

do all 308 gt4 distributors have flyweights and if so, could these be the issue?

many thanks

Marco

Dear Marco, I am having the same problem.
the car is going to the mechanic and if we find the solution I will be happy to share it

this if you have not yet solved this issue  in this case please suggest how to fix it.
thank you
