Valve adjustment

When doing a valve adjustment, make sure to replace every valve shim. You can flip a shim over if the clearance is good, as long as the surface of the shim that rides against the cam is new. This is often over looked by DIYers and new generation mechanics. Besides dirty oil, the quickest way to wipe the nose off a camshaft is with a valve shim that is deteriorating.
